Case Study
Interactive Training Module –
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
Overview
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) contracted NatCom to create a dynamic digital training and educational best practices blueprint for its 1,300 contracting and program support staff members. In the course of developing this initiative, NatCom interfaced with many of the HHS operational divisions including the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare, the National Institute of Health, the Federal Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. HHS is currently implementing our proprietary, web-based interactive training program nationwide. The project was budgeted at $950,000.
Objective
To develop a functional digital framework to provide educational training on best contractual practices and to improve the overall effectiveness of HHS staff members.
Strategy
Utilized dynamic interactive digital techniques to capture the attention of participants and encourage their active engagement in the training.
Tactics
In addition to the development of the architecture for the web site, our agency created the course work, provided the content and executed the entire initiative on a national level. Our video platform offerings were divided into seven subject matters and virtual exams were offered at the conclusion of the course. The project represented the first time Health and Human Services allowed an outside interactive training program to qualify for points in its Continued Education Program.
Results
As a result of our efforts, hundreds of HHS employees were trained in the latest contractual and support techniques, improved the effectiveness of their workday operation and earned credits in the Department’s Continued Education Program.
